Tecnopackaging participated last week in Biothop project launching, a project which seeks for sustainable hop agricultural practices by substituting conventional plastics by compostable bio-plastics.
The BIOCOMPLACK project aims to achieve biobased, biodegradable and compostable film food packaging to improve the barrier properties in 100 times compared to other biobased packaging. This allows lengthening 300% the shelf life of food contained therein. Check in this video how we are tackling this issue.
Our project will be showcased in the frame of a workshop organised by Aitiip in its facilities. You can already register for free.
The bioplastic and biobased materials are here to stay. Public opinion demands, with increasing force, sustainable products. The industry, to respond to this desire, is developing biobased plastics (from renewable sources) and sustainable plastics. Some brands have already started to implement them and offer their products with biobased packaging.
- YPACK, a new scale-up and industrialisation project of bio-based film, starts today
- We presented a paper on BioPol 2017 about "Reducing off-flavour in commercial PHA grades induced by autoxidation through the introduction of modified nanoclays"
- Biobased packaging to reduce landfill
- We are in Finland participating at World Circular Economy Forum 2017
